Winter Snowshoeing

A short nocturnal hike before dinner is a wonderful opportunity to see things from another perspective and to work up a good appetite! Ideal for stargazing with great views of the Milky Way on a clear night and the possibility of surprising some wildlife or even hearing a wolf or two howling! With a pick up and drop off from your accomodation, we hike from the guesthouse "Le Gite du Lautaret" around the Col du Lautaret at 2000m altitude then back to the gite for a mulled wine and raclette (mountain speciality of melted local cheese and deli style cold cuts of meat) or Tartiflette.

Mulled Wine, Raclette or Tartiflette, Dessert

and 25cl Red, White or Rosé or soft drink. (There is also a non cheesy option!!)

55€/ person, 40€ under 16s

So, what is Snowshoeing?

A great complimentary activity to skiing and snowboarding, it's accessible to all ages from 6 years and up, (check with me first) and all levels of fitness! I offer full days, half days and evenings on demand. This is your chance to get out into the real back country and see nature firsthand. In the Ecrins National Park we can get away from the crowds and the ski lifts. The chance to cross paths with Chamois, Ibex, Roe deer, Wild Boar and Golden Eagles to name but a few whilst enjoying a picnic or a local speciality in spectacularly beautiful surroundings.

Once again, I supply snowshoes, hiking poles and safety equipment when necessary.

You will need : Waterproof and comfortable hiking shoes. Classic hiking equipment with waterproof trousers (ski pants) or gaiters. Backpack, water and picnic if going on a full day trip.

Please don't hesitate to contact me for further information and take a look at the equipment page.
